Well, it’s the first of August today. I wonder how many of you are getting ready for holidays or may already be on holiday. I have already had mine 😔. Oh well, that can only mean one thing….time to start thinking about Christmas!😯😲.
Ok, so I won’t mention it again, just yet!
Today’s little lovely burst of colour is the Painter’s Palette and Playful Palette DSP and Washi.
To be honest, I really didn’t like this when I first saw it at Onstage back in April. I saw numerous pictures and projects made with it but it didn’t really tempt me. That was until I saw a few projects made just using the easel and I started to be swayed. The more I glanced at it the more I found myself liking it and now look…..a card made with the whole suite!!
I decided to make a shaker card and already knew I wanted to use everything in the suite (I am now realising that I didn’t use any bakers twine, oh dear).
So my base is Emerald Envy, another that I wasn’t keen on but love now, then layered it with a sheet of the DSP.
I made my shaker front with the easel on Whisper White and cut the centre out with the layering squares, then added the window sheet.
I stamped the ‘swishes’ and ‘splats’ in inks co-ordinating with the DSP onto a separate sheet of Whisper White and then added Foam Adhesive Strips to the back of the window sheet. I used the Sprinkles Punch to add the Sprinkles into the card and adhered everything together.
I stuck some of the washi tape randomly to the front of the card. The sentiment was stamped in Basic Black with ‘splats’ in Emerald Envy that was stamped off first. I then cut it out with one of the scalloped layered squares and backed it onto Emerald Envy card stock. I rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Punch.
For saying I didn’t like this suite to begin with I then I’ve made a pretty good job of this card. I must admit, the suite is rather fun to play with once you start.
Why don’t you have a try, see what you think?😊
