Nailed It Underground

We are getting really close to the end of my birthstone series, which can only mean we are also getting to the end of Sale-a-Bration too ?. We are now onto November and the Birthstone Citrine or Topaz and I thought the soon to retire Delightful Dijon was ideal.

One of the good things with Stampin’ Up! is that they think of important celebrations ahead of us so when we come to make our special cards there are already numerous designs all ready around to take inspiration from. It’s now coming round to that time of year where we have to think about Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and probably alot of birthdays too so I thought I would start with a Father’s Day card.

This first card was made with a Delightful Dijon base layered with the lovely Urban Underground Speciality DSP. The images and sentiment were stamped in Basic Black onto Very Vanilla. I then coloured them in with the Watercolour Pencils and a Blender pen. The amusing little faces I added afterwards.

This upscaled version started off the same way but ontop of the DSP layer I added a layer of Delightful Dijon that had been run through the Big Shot with the amazing Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Embossing Folders are great for adding texture to a card. I really should use them more.

I actually cut the tools out of Silver Foil Sheets for this one, along with the screws and bolts.

A few Urban Underground Embellishments were added to the corners and on the sentiment. This look really good. They look like heavy duty screw heads or bolts.

I think any Father would happy to receive either of these cards, whether it be for Father’s Day or a Birthday.

Happy Crafting ?
