Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or Seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues.
This week’s sketch was created by the lovely Amanda Charlesworth.
I was quite worried when I saw this sketch and I just kept thinking ‘What am I going to do with that?’
However, I had a lightbulb moment and decided to incorporate this design into a Christmas card for my husband but one I had made it I thought it was a bit too feminine for him. Anyway, this is what I came up with…
Maybe not quite as swirly as the sketch but I was walking my dogs trying to think of what I had that I could use for the swirl and the Botanical Builder Framelit sprung to mind. I did try to think of other things but this kept coming back so I went with it.
I used Read Red for the base and Garden Green for the die cut edged layer. I stamped the Snowflakes in Garden Green using the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp.
The ‘poinsettia’ were die cut in Real Red and Crushed Curry. The leaves were also Garden Green and sponged on the edges. (I still have green fingertips ?) Before adhering in place I added some Gold Metallic Thread at the back.
The ‘merry’ is from Christmas Greetings Thinlits and it was die cut from the Gold Foil Sheets. Christmas was from Holly Jolly Greetings and heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Embossing Powder. This was onto Real Red and layered onto some of the Gold Foil Sheet.
The final bit was to add some beautiful Real Red Stitched Ribbon, just to hide the seam of the two cardstock.
I hope you like my project and you are ready for Christmas.
