I have recently had a good look through my stamps and co-ordinating punches, dies, ribbons, etc because I know that this weekend I will be getting a peak at the Sale-a-Bration and Spring/Summer goodies at the OnStage event in Telford. I was quite dismayed to realise how little I have used some of the stamps and co-ordinating lovelies so I thought I had better get using them before there’s a chance they may retire!
I loved Swirly Bird when I first saw it and as I needed to make a card for my Brother in Law I saw a perfect opportunity to combine both.
Another favourite of mine is the embossing folders. Such an effective way to create a background. I used the Seaside TIEF on this Marina Mist base. I will say though, when you emboss the front of the card as I have, add a panel on the inside for added strength. Once you have embossed the card fibres are broken so the card has no real strength. Add to that any panels and it’s going to collapse.
I took a panel of Whisper White, cut it to the size I wanted,(No real measurements) and used the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits and the left over card to create the waves effect.
I stamped the sunshine in Daffodil Delight and the boat in Dapper Denim, Mint Macaron, Soft Sky and the little flag in Real Red. I fussy cut the boat out and adhered it with dimensionals.
The sentiment is from my old favourite, Tin of Cards, stamped in Dapper Denim and layered into some Watermelon Wonder, just for an added splash of colour.
Ideal card for a male, which are always tricky.
