Me and my Stampin’ Up!® Journey

Although I bring you lots of projects, blogs and inspiration I have realised that you don’t know very much about me or my introduction to Stampin’ Up!®, So here goes…

I am 40, retired, a wife, mother and crafter. I live in the Midlands with my husband, two children and two Shih Tzu’s who are my babies, oh, and a grumpy cat!

I guess I have always been creative and enjoyed art classes at school but never really pursued it. I do knitting, which I have done for years and a little cross stitch.

Around 4-5 years ago I decided to start making my own cards. They were pretty basic and I never really knew what I was doing, I just seem to muddle through.

I did get hooked on a few other brands but still found I wasn’t completely happy as my die cuts weren’t always cut cleanly and colours didn’t really match up. I just seemed to keep trying different things but without any real success.

I recall searching on YouTube for something and hearing people talk about Stampin’ Up! I didn’t have a clue what they were on about. I checked the online shop and was instantly impressed with what I saw. I returned to the shop, browsing, a few more times becoming more and more aware of the fantastic colours and co-ordination.

Within no time I placed my first order. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the actual products. When they arrived it felt like Christmas (and still does every time I get a parcel). The quality was amazing and there was so much help and support out there.

I had not really stamped, not with much success anyway, but as soon as I started ‘playing’ I found it so easy and yet massively rewarding. I soon placed another order for more products.

This is my first card…

Bloomington birthdayI was so impressed with how this turned out and just knew that this was THE company. I then discovered that I could turn this into a business! I couldn’t believe it, the chance to turn something I love into money. I had only placed two orders before I placed my Starter Kit order and signed up to be a Demonstrator.

I think, looking back now, I just discovered Stampin’Up! and ran with it. I just knew that this was right. I watched other Demonstrators and began talking to them. I instantly felt part of a crafting family.

To be honest I actually sold all of my non Stampin’ Up! Crafting items and put it all back into my business. One decision I have never regretted.

I feel so lucky to have found Stampin’ Up! and the wonderful people I have met through this. It has built my confidence a huge amount and everyday I get the chance to do my hobby and I still enjoy it, infact, my enjoyment grows everyday.

My only regret, if any, is that I wasted so much time and money on other brands and didn’t discover Stampin’ Up! sooner.

I have recently started making YouTube videos, which I never thought I would do. I am the happiest now, doing this ‘job’, than I have ever been and it’s all thanks to Stampin’ Up!

I do hope my journey has inspired some of you to maybe change something that isn’t quite right or just to give something a go and run with it. You will never know if you don’t try.

If you do have any interest in the products or becoming a Demonstrator just let me know. I will help in any way I can and as I say quite often…

Happy Crafting ?

Just one last thing to leave you with and that is the Stampin’ Up! Statement of the heart.

  1. I was introduced to carding by a new friend last October. I started with a 2″ square of double sided paper and ended up with a flower. I was hooked. From there I went on by myself with my local craft store. I love SU products since I started ordering. I watched videos for ideas and change them up to suit my needs. Best hobby I’ve ever seen!
