This set was another one that I wasn’t that fussed about when I first saw it but I looked at it again and actually looked at the stamps and the patterns. I found that I began thinking up ways to show off the stamps and the DSP and then realised that I really did like them.
So, having recently purchased them I decided to have a play. I always find myself going back to the same subtle colours or colour combinations so it was nice to combine different, darker colours.
The base is Early Espresso layered with Dapper Denim and Whisper White. On the Whisper White I stamped the long image across top and bottom in Emerald Envy. I then added three panels of different sizes. All bases were Early Espresso then individually layered with Emerald Envy, Moroccan DSP and Whisper White embossed with Elegant Dots TIEF.
The image was stamped in Emerald Envy onto Whisper White and punched out using the 1.75″ circle punch. The backing was punched out using the 2″ circle punch and Early Espresso card stock.
To finish it off I added some of the In Colour Enamel Shapes and Basic Rhinestone Jewels.
I really enjoyed using the darker base colours and stepping out of my comfort zone. It just goes to show that trying something new is worthwhile. Why don’t you give it a try??
