Tuesday Trio…a little something for a baby. I made a baby mobile, which was the most impossible thing to photograph, a card and a tag, all co-ordinating.
Firstly I will apologise for the really rubbish picture of the mobile. I tried numerous times, in different angles, backings, lighting and no matter how I tried it just looked rubbish and it took me ages to make. So, the only way I could photo it was to lie it down and lay the ‘daggling’ images so you could see them (and I think I even missed one after all that too). Clearly not my day!
So, the projects…..
The baby mobile. I did really enjoy making this with all the small details. I only used two stamp sets, Bear Hugs and Papillon Pot Pourri. For most of the images I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig® which is just the most important piece of kit I could ever own. The only one I didn’t use it for was the fish but I found an amazing way to rotate the image. I used a piece of Window Sheet, stamped on it and the placed it on the back of the die cut image, placing wet ink on the card…genius. it worked like a dream.
The images are all suspended with silver metallic thread and attached to a Soft Sky cloud shape. I just used my Paper Piecing tool to pierce a small hole for the thread to go through.
Colours used were as follows: Bears -Soft Suede, Heart -Flirty Flamingo, Fish -Markers Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz, Honey Pot -Markers Crushed Curry and Crumb Cake, Butterflies -Marina Mist, Crushed Curry, Real Red and Peekaboo Peach. I also used Bear Hugs Framelits, Bitty Butterfly Punch and Elegant Butterfly Punch.
This lovely, bright card has a base of Mint Macaron and a front layer of Daffodil Delight, which I stamped small butterflies on with Daffodil Delight. I then added a panel of Affectionately Yours DSP.
I again added butterflies to the DSP panel. They were stamped in Watermelon Wonder, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight and Mint Macaron. The bears are stamped in Crumb Cake and tucked behind the panel. The sentiment is from Suite Sayings and punched out with a 1.75″ circle punch.
This lovely little tag is made in a very similar way to the card. I used Very Vanilla card stock and adhered the DSP to it. I cut it to 2″ wide then used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch. Bear is stamped in Crumb Cake and then I used the Duet Banner Punch for the label and stamped the sentiment in Watermelon Wonder. To add a touch of detail I used the marker to create faux stitching to the edge. I wrapped some Crushed Curry bakers trine round the bottom and added two butterflies, Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder. The ribbon at the top of the label is Mint Macaron mini striped ribbon.
I really enjoyed making a bright and colourful baby card instead of the pastel pink and blue.
Have you made a bright baby card? If not, give it a go, it’s great fun.
