Good Morning everyone, what a miserable day we had yesterday. I was dog sitting and so had quite a bit of time to make my projects and get my blog ahead of schedule, for a change! It also made me want to make bright, sunny cards so when I saw the card in the catalogue I decided to make a similar one.
The base of this card is actually Kraft Card. I had a strip left over and found it a perfect size for a card base. I layered that with a 2″ square of Irresistibly Floral, which I covered with So Saffron using a sponge brayer.
I hadn’t used the brayer before but I really enjoyed using it. I gently rolled it over the ink pad then rolled it over the DSP. Using a tissue to wipe off the access bought out the criss cross pattern. Brilliant.
Using the Bunch of Blossoms stamp and the co-ordinating punch I stamped and punched the flower using Pumpkin Pie and Peekaboo Peach for the flower head and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves and stem. The leaves I stamped off for the fuller image before stamping the part image. The stem was fussy cut out.
I haven’t used my copper embossing powder much and couldn’t decide what colour to stamp the sentiment so copper embossing won. I used Tags and Labels Framelits to cut the sentiment out and added some copper metallic thread behind.
Before I assembled the card I adhered a strip of Burlap Ribbon to the card base.
I realky like this card. It makes me smile and think of summer gardens, trellis and pretty flowers.
