Happy Monday everyone (didn’t they have a song, Step on? You’re twisting my Melon man!) Haha. Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely weekend and got plenty of crafting done. I didn’t get as much done as I wanted, which is frustrating as my week is pretty busy. Oh well, I will just have to find that extra hour here and there.
My first card this week is this lovely watercolour. I find watercolouring has a much better effect when you have a large area to colour and this stamp is just that. Birthday Blooms has this large flower, the single stem one that I used on my background and a small flower head, along with three sentiments.
I used Very Vanilla as my card base and Rose Red for the background stamping, however I did stamp off first as I felt the colour was a little heavy for a delicate flower.
On Watercolour card I stamped the large flower with the Basic Gray Archival ink, which is perfect for watercolouring it doesn’t run. I used Rose Red for the flower and Wild Wasabi for the leaves. Of course, the watercolouring was done with my Aquapainter.
I layered the flower onto Rose Red card stock and then stamped ‘dear friend’, also in Rose Red, onto Watercolour card, layered this and added a small length of Blushing Bride Sequin trim underneath the sentiment before adhering.
I really do like this card and I am really happy with how it turned out.
If you haven’t used Aquapainters yet I strongly urge you to, they are so easy to use and give brilliant effects.
Go on, place an order today.
