Umbrella’s and Weather

Isn’t this just a great little set? It caught my eye on my first look through the new catalogue so knew it had to be in my first order. Like many of Stampin’ Up! products, there are so many possibilities with this set. I’ve already seen quite a few, including an owl , a cat and the umbrella upside down!

If you did look closely at the cards and projects in the catalogue you will notice that I have CASE’d this card from there. The reason for this is simple. Firstly, it is such a fabulous card that I wanted to re create it and secondly, I wanted to show how easy it is to make (and copy the designs) .

I altered the colours slightly by using Soft Sky as my layer. I used the Umbrella Weather Thinlits to cut out the clouds and then stamped the rain drops in Smoky Slate. The stamped clouds underneath the die cuts are stamped into individual pieces of Whisper White the adhered to the back of the Soft Sky, lining up the clouds, with dimensionals.

The umbrella had to be stamped in Real Red onto Real Red and the handle is Pink Pirouette. Both were then cut out with the Thinlits and adhered to the front of the card.

Finally I added the sentiment, in Basic Gray and added a strip of Soft Sky (Subtles) DSP.

I really enjoyed making this card and can’t wait to try out other designs with this stamp and thinlits.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Happy Crafting.
