Tuesday Trio box of tags

Today’s Tuesday Trio is a little different than my normal Trio.

This week’s trio consists of a box and two types of tags. I think this would work well as a gift as the tags have a couple of different sentiments.

The box base is made from 2015-2017 In Colour DSP, Mint Macaron, measuring 11″ x 12″.

With the 12″ across the top of your Simply Scored, score at 1, 3, 9 and 11. Rotate and score at 1, 3, 8 and 10. Fold and Burnish. Note that the 1″ score line is actually to fold over the edge when the box is finished to make a nicer finish.

You now need to cut the corners into tabs. If you cut the four small squares away in each corner first then cut the 1″ edges off the tabs. You will be left with a 2″ x 2″ square which is your tab. Cut down the remaining side and cut wedges off the ends of the 1″ edge to give a neater and easier fold.

Adhere the tabs and then apply adhesive to the 1″ edge and fold over.

The small tags are punched out of Mint Macaron card stock with the Decorative Label punch and the 1/8″ hand held punch is used for the twine hole. A piece of Whisper White was cut to fit inside and stamped with Happy Birthday from the Confetti Celebration stamp in Mint Macaron. The stars are stamped in Watermelon Wonder but stamped off first. The corners are rounded with the Project Life corner punch and the adhered to the  Mint Macaron label.

The large tags are also punched out of Mint Macaron using the Scalloped Tag Punch, which is 2″ wide. The Confetti Celebration stamp was used again but I used Daffodil Delight on the string of lights, Mint Macaron on the sentiment and Watermelon Wonder, stamped off, on the balloons. The corners were rounded again and adhered to the base.

A length of Very Vanilla Thick Bakers Twine and the Silver 1/8″ ribbon was cut to add to the tags.

I used some of my own tissue paper to fill the base of the box and shredded it with the fringed scissors. I also added two lengths of card to work as dividers to the box.

This was quite fun to make and I had lots of ideas for other boxes and tags to make.
