3D Thursday Tealights

Well, we are almost at the end of another week. So it must be time for another 3D Thursday.

On my recent trip to IKEA I picked up some Strawberry tea lights. I just love Strawberries and anything scented like them too. Ironically I also love the colour red. So this 3D project combines two favourites.

The single box is really tiny but very easy to make. For the base I used Real Red card stock which is 3″ x 3″. I scored it at 3/4″ on all sides. Fold and burnish the score lines then cut the tabs, with wedges either side. As the box is so small you will need to cut a small amount off the length of each tab. I used fast fuse to adhere as it is a little stronger.

The lid is made from the Brights DSP, Real Red. Again this measures 3″ x 3″ and scored at 3/4″ on all sides, however, before I scored I used a piece of Real Red card stock as a ‘shim’ on the edge. This will give the lid the the extra bit to fit snuggly over the base. As before, fold and burnish. Cut the tabs and adhere.

To decorate I used the new Thoughtful Banners stamp set and punch. Before adhering I added some gold metallic thread.

This box holds 3 tealights and is made in exactly the same way but the paper measures 6″ x 3″. The window was cut using the 1 3/8″ circle punch and a piece of Window Sheet which measured 2″ x 1 1/4″. I adhered this with a glue dot on each corner.

To decorate I added another Thoughtful Banner but added a bow of Gold 1/8″ ribbon.

These were really easy and fun to make and look really effective. Hope you have fun making these.

Happy Crafting.
