I have only recently purchased this stamp set but actually wanted it for a while. It is so versatile but even better, when I purchased this Stampin’ Up! donate £2 to the RMHC.
RMHC is Ronald McDonald House Charities which keeps families together when their children are receiving medical treatment far from home. I think this is amazing and if I can support a charity as well as doing what I love then that’s an added bonus. There is a new stamp coming in the new catalogue for this charity too.
So, back to this card. I’ve actually made it for a fellow Demonstrator who’s birthday is this month.
The base is Watermelon Wonder with a layer of Whisper White. A length of Watermelon Wonder stitched satin ribbon was placed around the centre and adhered with tear and tape.
I used the Cherry on Top DSP stack and Layering Squares Framelits for the layering under the cake. The ‘cake case’ was created by using Basic Black on a piece of DSP and fussy cut out.
The ‘frosting’ was Basic Gray stamped onto Shimmer White card stock and punched out with the Tree Builder Punch. I added an extra touch of Shimmer by coating with a Wink of Stella.
The Cherry is Cherry Cobbler card stock punched out from the Tree Builder Punch but the apple bit. The stalk is Early Espresso which I just cut into a thin strip and glued in place with the fine tip glue.
The sentiment is stamped in Watermelon Wonder and it is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set. It is stamped on Whisper White and layered with Watermelon Wonder card stock.
Final embellishments are some Basic Rhinestone Jewels added.
I really enjoyed making this card and having helped a family out with the RMHC charity makes it even more worthwhile.
Have a great weekend.
