I suppose I am expecting too much by thinking of ice cream and lollies but I couldn’t resist making these.
The card is a Whisper White base. The ‘lolly’ shape is cut from Crumb Cake with the top section cut from Early Espresso. I actually used the 2.5″ circle punch to get the curve on the top. Bright sequins were glued on the Early Espresso with the fine tip glue. The bottom section is Red Glimmer paper and the ‘stick’ is Tip Top Taupe.
I used Teeny Tiny sentiment’s, Sweet Treats, stamped in Real Red and the Word Window punch. A small piece of Red Glimmer paper was put behind with the corners rounded with the Project Life corner punch.
I really like this recipe card holder. It was fairly simple to make and would be a great ‘New Home’ gift for someone.
To make the box you will need DSP measuring 9.5 x 8. With the pattern running upwards (the 8″ side across the top), score at 2″ and 6″. Rotate and score at 3.75″ and 5.75″. Fold and burnish score lines then cut out wedges in the small squares either side. I have supplied a photo to help.
I found the best way to folds the sides is to fold the flaps on the back panel in first then the small base flaps. Adhere the small bottom flaps to the back flaps. Put adhesive on the inside of the front flaps and fold round, adhering to the bottom and back flaps. Basically make a ‘sandwich’ having the bottom flaps as the filling. If you do it this way the inside sides are smooth and the front of the box looks tidy with the joins at the back.
To decorate I added a panel of Pink Pirouette, stamped an ice cream in Pink Pirouette ink from the Sprinkles of Life and used Back to Basics to stamp ‘Recipes’ in Basic Black. (Yes I know I spelt it wrong on the project) The finishing touch was a Honeycomb Embellishment.
The dividers were cut from Pink Pirouette card stock measuring 4″ x 4″ and 3/4″ circles punched from Pink Pirouette cardstock and Birthday Bouquet DSP. The letters were stamped again with Back to Basics and Basic Black ink. The recipe cards were cut from Whisper White and decorated with Butterfly Basics and the new Playful Backgrounds stamps.
I used Pink Pirouette and Mint Macaron on the recipe cards.
My final part of the Trio is this lovely magnetic bookmark. It’s perfect for cookbooks or reading books and is really simple to make.
I took a strip of Mint Macaron cardstock, 2″ x 8″. The ice cream was stamped from the Sprinkles of Life stamp. The ‘cornet’ was stamped in So Saffron onto Whisper White and cut out. The scoops of ice cream were stamped with matching ink and card. So Saffron, Pink Pirouette and Tip Top Taupe. The tree Builder punch was used to punch them out. I added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to add some sparkle to the ice cream.
The magnets were purchased from eBay and are quite small. They were adhered with glue dots and covered with 1/2″ punched circles.
