Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are all available in the current Annual, or Seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® catalogues.
This week’s sketch was created by Karen….
Following this sketch I created an elegant cover for a long note pad or shopping list pad.
I measured the basic size of the pad which was 8″ x 3″. I took a piece of Elegant Eggplant card stock and cut it at 3.25″ wide. I didn’t alter the length.
I scored the card at 8.25″. It is ideal to leave a small ‘lip’ on the front so you are not struggling to find the first page of the note pad. As all note pads are different thicknesses it is always best to measure the thickness. This will determine where the second score line will be. Once you have found your second score line and scored it you will have a long and short side. The short side is the part you adhere to the back of your pad.
To decorate I added a strip of Everyday Chic Washi tape. With the Silver Foil Sheets and the Bow Builder Punch I made the silver bow. I actually found two bow ‘tails’ too much, so I used one, cut up the middle and rounded the edges where I had cut.
The dot circles are from the Balloon Celebration stamp set. I actually used heat embossing for these with Versamark and Silver embossing powder.
I am really pleased with this and this it is really Elegant. You could always replace the Bow with a flat flower or add a magnet to the back so it be put on a fridge.
