Butterfly and flowers

I mentioned recently how I hadn’t used my Textured Impressions Embossing Folders for a while, so I decided to give myself a little challenge and use one of my embossing folders on one project a week.

Today I have used the Filigree Frame TIEF on some Calypso Coral card stock. You will notice that I used Calypso Coral as my card base, then layered with Whisper White and then added my embossed card stock on top.

The butterfly is from the Floral Wings stamp set, which is actually a Hostess reward stamp set. In order to receive this item you simply need to either place an order with me for £150 or more (not including p&p) or host a stamping party. The stamping party is hosted by you but I attend with my ‘kit’ and all your guests, and you of course, get to have a ‘play’ with the products. The ‘play’ involves making a project that you can then take home. Just think how great it would be to host a party, have fun with friends and then get to take what you have made home and show everyone your crafty side.

If you are interested in hosting a party then please contact me. I am very flexible and will hopefully be able to answer your questions and arrange a night for you and your friends to have fun, get crafting and make it a night to remember.

Back now to my card. As I said, the butterfly is from the Floral Wings stamp which I stamped in Delightful Dijon. This stamp set is actually a layering stamp, so secondly I stamped the flowers on the wings in Crushed Curry and finally the leaves were stamped with Pear Pizzazz. This was then cut out using the Bold Butterfly Framelit.

I purchased some vellum a while back and thought that it would work well layered over this butterfly. I used the Butterflies Thinlits to cut the vellum butterfly out. I’m not sure if the photo shows but I have covered the vellum butterfly in clear Wink of Stella. This was adhered to the base butterfly with a glue dot. A link of basic pearls was added to the butterfly’s body to finish it off nicely.

The flowers around the card are punched out using the Itty Bitty accents flower punch and Delightful Dijon card stock. Three of the flowers were layered together to give the flowers a fuller effect. A basic rhinestone gem was added to the middle of each flower. (I had to add a little bit of bling).

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and stamped in Crushed Curry. It was punched out with the Washi Label punch. Three more rhinestone gems were added to the bottom.

Have a lovely weekend, whatever you are doing or wherever you are going.

I am very excited as I get to go to a Stampin’ Up! convention with other Demonstrators and like-minded people this weekend. I also get to see the new catalogue before anyone else and see some new products. Eeek, I’m so excited. Watch this space for more info, when I am allowed to tell you all about the new goodies. Get saving those pennies. I’m fairly sure there will be some more amazing new goodies coming this way.
