I hope all had a lovely weekend. The weather seemed to hold out for most of it so hopefully you managed to get some gardening done.
You may not be aware but this is actually National Gardening Week, so what better way to show off some of the new goodies that I have recently purchased. My mum loves her garden so these stamps and DSP seemed perfect for any projects I wanted to make for her.
So, the base of this card is Pear Pizzazz and it is layered with English Garden DSP. I actually used dimensionals to layer this, just for a change, as I usually just use snail.
I then used Gift from the Garden stamp set and stamped the plants in pots with Pear Pizzazz, the gloves in Blushing Bride and the wellies in Always Artichoke all on Whisper White. I used the Project Life Corner punch and rounded all the edges once I had cut them to the right size. I thought that the stamped images looked a little bear so I used the matching markers and just went round the edges. This seemed to add a little something to them. I didn’t really have the space on the card to layer them with Pear Pizzazz otherwise this may have been a slightly better option.
I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Always Artichoke onto Pear Pizzazz then wound some Linen Thread round the end, securing the ends on the back with a glue dot. The knot was added after. I also used a double thickness of Linen Thread and tied a bow, sticking this in the corner of the plants on pots with a glue dot. The finishing touch was a Blushing Bride candy dot in the corner.
I was really happy with this card and although it is a gardening theme, I think the pinks just give it a female touch. This could always be changed if you wanted to send this to a male.
Happy Crafting Everyone and don’t forget to check out the weekly deals. The Clearance Rack has also had some new additions that are worth having a look at.
