Tuesday trio Make a Cuppa

This weeks Tuesday Trio are an ideal gift, which I actually have previously made with different colours and given. The recipients were very pleased with them.

All items are made from the Have a cuppa series.  I hadn’t used it prior to this but I do like the bright colours in this series.

The Post-It note/Calendar cover is really simple to make.

You will need a piece of card stock 10″ x 3 1/4″ . With the 10″ side along the top, score at 3, 3 1/2, 6 3/4 and 7 1/4. Fold and Burnish.

There are two layering DSP measuring 3 x 2 1/4 and one piece measuring 2 3/4. The larger piece goes on the ‘lid’, the other two pieces go on the flap under the lid on both the inside and outside.

I then attached my Post-It note and calendar (both of which I purchased from Ebay at a good price)

The closure was a couple of small magnets, which again I got from Ebay and C.A.S.E’d from Pootles Papercraft. The company is Spider Magnets. They are really quite small but very strong. I glued these onto the card with a glue dot and then covered them with matching card stock using the 3/4 circle punch.

The final part is to decorate. I have simply stamped and die cut the tea cup, adding a little sentiment.

The box is just the right size for a candle in a tin or, in this case, some flavoured T-Bags to match the theme.

From the photo below you will see that both bottom and top of the box comprise of two pieces. I shall start with the base.

Cut your solid coloured card stock to measure 5 3/16’s squared and then score at 1″ on all sides. Fold and burnish then cut up  one side of the corner squares to make the tabs, add snail and fold up to make the base box.

Take a piece of white card stock and cut to measure 6 1/8″ squared. If desired, stamp with co-ordinating ink and stamp at this stage . Score on all sides at 1 1/2″, fold and burnish then cut one side of the corner squares again to make the tabs. Add snail and fold up to make the box. Now place this white sheet inside the solid coloured box. You now have your base.

To make the lid you will need a piece of solid coloured card stock measuring 5 1/8″ squared. Score on all sides at 1″, fold and burnish. Cut up one side of the small squares, add snail and fold up.

For the white part of the lid you will need Thick white card stock measuring 6 3/16″ squared. You can either stamp this one or you can add layering pieces like I have on this one. If you are stamping, stamp it at this point. Score at 1 1/2″ on all sides, fold and burnish. Cut up one side of the corner squares, snail and fold up. Place the solid colour inside the white. You now have your box.

You can add your decoration, once you have filled your box, with embellishments or ribbon.

Perfect gifts to give a teacher, colleague or best friend on any occasion.
